6th Grade Student Emily Gong represents Lindbergh in BCA MATHCOUNTS Competition

Congratulations to Emily Gong, a 6th grade student at Lindbergh School, who competed against 7th and 8th grade students from many different schools in the Bergen County Academies (BCA) MATHCOUNTS competition. She began by attending the Annual Joe Holbrook Competition last September hosted by BCA, just for fun, and made it into the Bronze Division. Based on that, BCA sponsored her to compete in a new well-known competition called MATHCOUNTS. She participated in the Chapter Competition and scored in the top 20% in Bergen/Hudson County, which meant she qualified for the next round, the Chapter Invitational Competition. Emily ranked 110 out of 224 in the Chapter Competition and represented Lindbergh School in the Chapter Invitational Competition. Emily learned so much from this experience and feels lucky to have had the opportunity to compete. She hopes to go to the State Competition in the future.
